The Top 10 Burning Research Questions from Practitioners

The Top 10 Burning Research Questions from Practitioners (by Sallyann Freudenberg and Helen Sharp) was published by the IEEE Software, September/October 2010.

Since the beginning of my Ph.D., my bet is:

  • Statistics and data about how much money/time is saved by agile –> Productivity ūüôā
  • Sociological studies‚ÄĒwhat were the personalities in successful/failed agile teams? –> can explain better the quantitative results.
  • Architecture and agile‚ÄĒhow much design is enough for different classes of problem? –> very interesting question, I want to explore this issue in the future.
  • What metrics can we use with minimal side-effects? –> How can we measure things that really reflect the team opinion?
