What’s my Ph.D. thesis about?
I conducted quantitative and qualitative research on Agile Methods and Software Productivity. We worked in the project “Empirical evaluation of agile practices impact on team productivity” (Granted by the State of São Paulo Research Foundation and The Research Council of Norway). The goal was to generate empirical evidence regarding factors influencing agile team productivity, and explore productivity metrics in the agile context. My research project is based on collaborative, intensive partnership with IT industry. During the project, I’ve participated in many important Agile conferences worldwide, and also attended courses in Norway and Italy.
I was the key player on the research project regarding Agile state-of-practice in Brazil (some results are available). I’m the co-founder of SOMA research group, involving 2 professors, 1 posdoc, 5 PhD candidates and 6 master students. I’m also conducting applied research on agile methods in collaboration with other universities (UFPE, NTNU, UnB) and many multinational and national companies.
